Why Manx Cats Make Good Pets

November 22, 2008 by Shannon · 1 Comment

There is a myth surrounding dog owners and that is most people who have kept dogs refused to get a cat because they firmly believe a dog is truly “man’s best friend”. However, many pet owners who kept both dogs and cats in their household will attest to the fact that, there is one breed of cat that made them veer away from that particular myth. And that cat is the Manx cat.

Oddly enough, Manx cats behave pretty much like our canine companions do. So it is not unusual that dog owners immediately fall in love with them at first glance. Believe it or not, Manx cats can be taught nifty tricks. Imagine being able to teach them how to fetch items at a whim or beckon them simply by calling their name. Many Manx cat owners love the experience of training them because the Manx is so eager to please. They can even sense instances when they are reprimanded, and understand the word “no” enough to keep them from committing repeated mischief.

While a Manx cat can be taught to be obedient, it is in no way a staid cat. A Manx cat does not personify the average cat that is unfriendly or unsociable. On the contrary, a Manx cat loves interacting regularly with both humans and animals alike. Bring home a Manx cat today and you’ll see I’m telling the truth!

Manx Hugs and Purrs

A warm Manx Hug and lots of Purrs to all from AnaManxs Cattery.   This year has brought some changes for us here at AnaManx’s, we are now living in the city and miss seeing our ducks and wildlife daily.  The drive (45 minutes - 1 an hour a day) was a bit much -  not to mention the price of gas.  Our Bella had two beautiful kittens that have found wonderful homes on May Day.  :trance:   That was quite a scary event, she ended up having to have a “C” section and I was advised to have her spayed since she might have the same problems in the future.

My charming Buster AKA CH Animere Carlyn has gone to live with my son and his new family in TN.  He also will no longer be siring kittens, and now is just the KING of the house!  He may show as a premier once he settled down a bit.  He has not taking as well as I had hoped to showing as a whole male.  Even if a cat has all the beauty and charm and genetic to be a show Buster, you never known how they will react to it; we as breeders can not guarantee show ability!   But, now loving personality “The Manx” have it all!

I believe my CH Mynney is expecting and possibly also Anna Bree!  I will keep you posted.
